Free Resources for Single Moms

Being a single mom can make it challenging to make ends meet, but many resources are available to help. Did you know there are numerous free items and services for single moms? From baby essentials and car seats to food and beyond, there is a wealth of free support available if you know where to find it.

Baby Essentials

Did you know that many popular retailers frequently offer free samples of baby products? While you might expect these samples to be small, like tiny bottles of baby shampoo or single diapers, you might be surprised by the value. Some retailers provide free items worth up to $150!

We have also included information on non-profit organizations and other networks that can help provide free stuff for single moms and their babies.

Target

To receive a free Welcome Kit valued at $150, all you have to do is create a baby registry on Target’s website. See click here for details.

Walmart

For a free baby gift box containing items from brands like Huggies, Enfamil, and Dreft, create a baby registry and then sign up to qualify for your gift box.

Cuties Diapers

Receive a free sample pack of diapers in your baby’s size from Cuties Diapers. Start by entering your email address here and you’ll be sent a form to fill out.

Noobies Boxes

While not exactly free (these boxes will cost you $12.95 for shipping), you can sign up to receive a box of samples for expecting moms or for hungry babies

National Diaper Network

To find free diapers in your area, call 211 and a representative can connect you with the resources you need. You can also check the National Diaper Network directory to see which organizations in your area are part of their network.

Safeconvertiblecarseats.com

Need a car seat for your baby? Safeconvertiblecarseats.com has a directory where you can get a free car seat in all 50 states. Check it out!

Food

If you frequent national chains like Starbucks, Dunkin’, and Burger King and you haven’t downloaded the app, you might be missing out on free food through rewards programs and giveaways. In addition to the restaurant chains I just mentioned, try downloading the apps for:

  • Wendy’s
  • Panera
  • IHOP
  • Quizno’s
  • Sonic
  • Domino’s
  • McDonald’s

Local Free Resources

Sometimes when you’re looking for free stuff for single moms, the best place to turn can be your local community. Whether you’re looking for free or cheap furniture for your kids’ rooms, clothes for back-to-school, or kitchen appliances, there are likely a few friendly places to turn right in your backyard.

Free Cycle

Free Cycle has two goals: to keep perfectly good stuff from ending up in landfills and hurting the environment, and to help save everyone some money. Free Cycle helps connect community members who are giving away free stuff with community members who are in search of free stuff. Check out their website to see if a Free Cycle group exists where you live. Don’t see your city or town on their site? You can start a Free Cycle group of your own!

Join a Facebook or Nextdoor Group

Most communities have a Facebook or Nextdoor group totally dedicated to passing around hand-me-downs! Toys, clothing, furniture. You name it. These platforms are great places to connect with your neighbors and share resources.
